36275) Anorexia is called Magersucht in german. Mager=skinny, Sucht=addiction. And it’s true, you get addicted to become skinnier.
If this is true, then it is a much more accurate description of the disease that most people experience than the English version “Anorexia” which means “without appetite.” With this disease, you don’t lose your appetite so much as attempt to control it. When they are diagnosing you, there is not very much discussion of hunger etc at all.
